Beauty | All the other bits and bobs...

Shiseido Anessa perfect sparkling sunscreen

After posting my Morning Skincare Routine, i thought it would be a great idea to fill you guys in with all the bits and bobs that sometimes can be forgotten and put aside and only than remembered when the skin is crying for help. Its those kind of product that a little goes a long way in saving the skin.

Facemask
I'm trying to make it a habit to put on a facemask at least once a week. The mask that's constantly sitting in my drawer is Laneige Water Sleeping Pack. It's those kind of mask fit for a lazy girls night time routine. You need to slap it on and let it work it's magic while you get your beauty sleep. Literally beauty sleep. When i have some extra time over the weekend i would than slap on a sheet mask and let it sit for 15-20 mins. Just relaxing on my bed with a book in hand. The mask that i'm loving is the Innisfree mask.

Eyecream
I would reach for my Kiehl's Avocado eye treatment when i feel that i needed the extra boost of hydration to my eyes. I've had this like forever, and it feels like it's not gonna be finished up anytime soon. Just like any other eye cream, i take this onto my fingers and rub it together to warm it up a bit before dotting it under the eyes and than gently tapping it all over.

Combating those spots
Grease lightning from Lush is definitely my holy grail product when it comes to banishing those pesky spots. I've used this so many times and surely loving the result. My pimples will just shrink and disappear almost over night. Without a doubt this will always be a repurchase for me. Even though we don't get Lush on our shore but our neighbouring country (Singapore) do!

Facial Mist
These couple of months, my skin has been on the fence and starting to get out of control. I really needed something to calm myself as well as my skin. Facial mist is one soothing product where it helps to cool you down as well as injecting some form of moisture to your skin. Hugo Natural Essential Mist in calming french lavender is my current go-to product. Just spritzing it right after my night time routine and than heading straight to bed.

Sunscreen
SPF, an important product yet commonly forgotten by many. Protecting yourself from the sun's UV rays is important. You wouldn't want to see fine lines and freckles right? On those days where i remember i need to put on sunscreen i would reach out for Shiseido Anessa perfect sparkling sunscreen that has SPF 50+. Just as what it's called it does leave your skin looking glow-y.

So tell me, what's one skincare product that you will always need?

Beauty | Too Faced Boudoir Eyes

If you have been reading Mabeses for some time now, you would have noticed that i don't ever have many reviews on Too Faced products. Actually, to correct that its more of never. Well a simple explanation is that i don't have any.... till now..... Surprise! Surprise! let me present to you my first Too Faced palette, Too Faced Boudoir Eyes.

I've heard some good reviews about Too Faced palettes. How they feel so nice and wears well as well as the buttery smooth formula. Especially their Chocolate bar. So it was just about the right time that i have this in my collection. I went and took a look at the Too Faced aisle in Sephora and decided to pick up the Boudoir Eyes palette.

I loved that they come in a tin packaging which means its sturdy enough to take a punch when you use it a lot. Wear and tear do happen when the packaging is not strong enough. Especially when travelling. This compact palette is small enough to keep in your makeup bag or for those who wants to bring a versatile palette when traveling. And can we take a second to admire the details on the packaging, it's so dainty and fit for a princess.

A little extra How-to Glamour Guide nicely tucked in between the mirror. Where it explains 3 different looks that you can create with this palette.

Onto the actual product of the palette. What Boudoir Eyes have are 3 rows of eye shadows. They are all nicely placed so that you can just follow each row to create your look or you can just mix and match around. I usually would just go for whatever color that i want for my look. They even made it easier for you to decide which look that you want to go for as Too Faced named each row. You can go for Day, Classic or Fashion look.

The Day shadows are two matte shades and lightly shimmered shade. In the buff is always nice to highlight the brow bone or you can just use it all over the lid to even out the tone. Fuzzy handcuffs didn't really show much here as it's almost the same as my skin tone. Voulez-vous is my favourite as it's a really nice shade for a day time smokey eye. The matte purple is really nice when blended out onto the outer V or in the crease.

In the buff, Fuzzy handcuffs, Voulez-vous

The Classic look has one satin shade, one shimmery shade and one matte shade. Satin sheet has a gold undertone where i sometimes layer it over any eyeshadow when i feel that i needed the highlight. I usually pop this in the middle of the lid, just gently tapping it on top. Sugar walls is a nice shade for your everyday neutral look. It looks nice even on its own. Garter belt is the only matte shade out of the three. In the pan, it looks like a black but once swatched it's more of a dark grey with brown undertones.

If your going out to party for the night, than Fashion is your go to look. 2 shimmery shades and one matte with glitter for you to go to town. Birthday suite and Lap dance are both stunningly beautiful. They are the kind of color where you would definitely want to wear it during the day and than adding French tickler for a night time look. French tickler reminds me of a night sky full of stars. The gold glitter definitely made this shade stand out.

Too Faced do live up to the expectation. All the shades are pigmented and is smooth to the touch. The thing that fell short is that it's not meant to work with wet brushes. I gave Fuzzy handcuffs a whirl with a wet brush and totally regretted it. Just a little warning, there will be fallouts from the shimmery shades.

I think the Bourdoir Eyes palette has a good variety of color without straying far from neutral tones. The combinations of matte, shimmer and glitter shadows in one palette is a plus point when it comes to having a variety of finishes. Especially when your travelling and only want to bring one palette. I can't compare to any of the other palettes that Too Faced have put out as this is my first palette, but it does leave a good impression on me already. Too Faced Boudoir Eyes is available in our local Sephora and retailing for RM114.

What would you recommend from Too Faced?

Book Club: Pre reading | The Jewel

New month, new book. My book club have been on a down hill for the past few month. I know, I haven't been reading much lately. I mean, where did all my time went? So it's time to pull out a new book and start the reading session. I needed something fresh (other than the books sitting on my book shelf) so i took a trip down to the bookstore. It was either The Jewel or The Selection (which i might pick it up sometime).

Instead of writing a complete review on the book, I would divide the post into two. A pre and post reading. This way I would be able to give my first impression thoughts as well as my thoughts after finishing it. You could join me as well in reading, maybe? :)

So to start off the Book Club this is what I will be reading for the month of December. To be honest, after finishing The Hunger Games and Divergent series i was looking for more dystopian books to read. I manage to skim through a few of the pages and i can already tell that the concept is so similar to The Hunger Games/Divergent where the people are divided into districts. I'm looking forward to bury my nose into the story.

Have a good weekday ahead!

Barely there November Favourites | Coveting over lip glosses

If only i had more to share for my November favourites, but this month i have been loving these three lip products. You know when you really love that one makeup product when it sticks around in your handbag wherever you go. These three have been living in my handbag for the past couple of month and i knew i somehow had to give them their spotlight on mabeses.

Laneige have really got their formula right for their Snow Crystal Lip Gloss. Even though what i have in hand is a sample size but they are pigmented enough that i only need a pea size amount to get coverage for my lips. They glide on smoothly and doesn't leave a sticky feel as some lip glosses tend to do. Plus point is that it smells like sweet cherries to me. It leaves the right amount of tint to the lips as well as a nice hint of shimmer. I'm loving this for everyday use.

Laneige Snow Crystal Pure Lip Glosee in LR107 Veil Rose

The other lip gloss that i switch around is from Innisfree. I got this whilst visiting Korea and Innisfree was a makeup/skincare haven. I heard so many good things about this brand and since it's not available here in Malaysia (FYI Innisfree is opening a branch here soon! *happydance*) of course i had to make a pitstop while in Korea. Anyways, I picked this up randomly and didn't expect much of it. But on my first application i fell in love with it. First for its non-sticky formula and second for the color. It felt like i wasn't wearing any lipgloss. Just like Laneight snow cyrstal pure lipgloss it felt light on the lips. The shade that i had was perfect for a natural lip color. Which is not too dark of a pink but just the perfect pink. And just as you expect, it smells sweet as well. Sadly i couldn't tell you the color that i have here as they are all written in Korean.

I stole my mum's perfume | Daisy Dream by Marc Jacobs

I stole my mum's perfume, literally! Since my favourite taylor swift perfume has run it's course, it was time to try a new scent. Just at the right time my mum got this as her birthday present, what better chance to steal it over and take a whiff of it. I have secretly been using it every day. *shhhh*

Lets start off with the packaging. I love the daisies going all around the top of the bottle. It's such a feminine look, what more it looks stunning on my dressing table. The baby blue with hints of gold makes it stand out among my other bottle of perfumes. The spraying mechanism feels really sturdy and sprays out evenly each time.

If your into soft floral scent with a slight hint of sweetness, than this is right up your alley. The floral scent is not too overpowering which i really love. I'm not much of a floral scent lover as sometimes it can be too overwhelming for me that's why i tend like sweeter scents like Taylor by Taylor Swift. So it was quite surprising that Daisy Dream smells pleasing to me.

What's your to-go perfume at the moment?
